|---|---|---|
| Temperatura | 15–25 °C | 18–28 °C |
| Humedad relativa | 50–80 % | > 60 % |
| Viento | 2–8 km/h | 3–12 km/h |
| DPV (aire) | 0,3–1,2 kPa | |
| 3 | Desfavorable | Mejor esperar otra hora |
|---|---|---|
| 15–25 °C | 0 | Muy favorable |
| 13–15 o 25–27 °C | ≤ 2 °C | Favorable |
| 11–13 o 27–29 °C | ≤ 4 °C | Precaución |
| 8–11 o 29–32 °C | ≤ 7 °C | Desfavorable |
| < 8 o > 32 °C | > 7 °C | Muy desfavorable |
Humedad relativa (ideal 50–80 %)
| HR | Lado | Clase |
|---|---|---|
| 50–80 % | Dentro | Muy favorable |
| 81–90 % | Arriba (+1 a +10) | Favorable |
| 91–100 % | Arriba (+11 a +20) | Precaución |
| 40–49 % | Abajo (−1 a −10) | Precaución |
| 30–39 % | Abajo (−11 a −20) | Desfavorable |
| < 30 % | Abajo (> 20) | Muy desfavorable |
Viento (ideal 2–8 km/h)
| Viento | Clase | Por qué |
|---|---|---|
| 2–8 km/h | Muy favorable | Cobertura y poca deriva |
| 1–2 km/h | Favorable | Calma: vigilar inversión |
| < 1 km/h | Precaución | Inversión / gota que no viaja |
| 8–10 km/h | Favorable | Deriva ligera |
| 10–12 km/h | Precaución | Deriva |
| 12–16 km/h | Desfavorable | Deriva fuerte |
| > 16 km/h | Muy desfavorable | No pulverizar |
DPV = es × (1 − HR/100)
| DPV | Clase | Lectura |
|---|---|---|
| > 2,20 kPa | Muy desfavorable | Tarde seca |

Foliar Application Windows
Summary
The tool classifies, hour by hour in a single zone, whether conditions favor an efficient, safer foliar spray: less drift, less droplet evaporation, no rain wash-off, better persistence and uptake. It does not compare several fields at once: one map point = one plot.
Where it is in the app
- Free tool (login / dashboard): 🍃 Foliar Application Windows.
- Map / GPS / lat-lng (same as VPD). Persistence:
nutriplant_free_ventanas_foliar_v1. - UI follows the user language (ES/EN) and unit system (metric: °C and km/h; US customary: °F and mph). Physics stay SI.
- Not the VPD estimator, not the agroclimate forecast, not the PRO Climate tab.
Default ranges
The sweet spot (very favorable) is the NutriPlant foliar spray intersection: 15–25 °C, RH 50–80%, wind 2–8 km/h. Wider NutriPlant publication band: T 18–28 °C, RH > 60%, wind 3–12 km/h. Air VPD 0.3–1.2 kPa; 0 mm rain. The hourly matrix is 24 h (night included).
How it is classified
Each hour gets five scores (0 to 4). They are not averaged: the hour result is the limiting factor (worst indicator wins).
| Score | Band | Reading |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Very favorable | Fit for coverage and uptake |
| 1 | Favorable | Fit, with one factor slightly off |
| 2 | Caution | Apply with judgment (drift, dew, or rain soon) |
| 3 | Unfavorable | Wait for another hour |
| 4 | Very unfavorable | Do not spray (rain, extreme heat, strong drift) |
Tables use the NutriPlant default. If the user changes min/max in the tool, distances are measured from those limits (same logic). Physics stay SI (°C, km/h, kPa, mm); °F and mph are display only.
Temperature (ideal 15–25 °C)
Distance from the band, above or below.
| Value | Distance | Class |
|---|---|---|
| 15–25 °C | 0 | Very favorable |
| 13–15 or 25–27 °C | ≤ 2 °C | Favorable |
| 11–13 or 27–29 °C | ≤ 4 °C | Caution |
| 8–11 or 29–32 °C | ≤ 7 °C | Unfavorable |
| < 8 or > 32 °C | > 7 °C | Very unfavorable |
Relative humidity (ideal 50–80%)
Asymmetric: above 80% (coast; droplet lasts longer) is a light penalty; below 50% (dry air; evaporation) is harsher. High RH never reaches very unfavorable.
| RH | Side | Class |
|---|---|---|
| 50–80% | Inside | Very favorable |
| 81–90% | Above (+1 to +10) | Favorable |
| 91–100% | Above (+11 to +20) | Caution |
| 40–49% | Below (−1 to −10) | Caution |
| 30–39% | Below (−11 to −20) | Unfavorable |
| < 30% | Below (> 20) | Very unfavorable |
Wind (ideal 2–8 km/h)
| Wind | Class | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 2–8 km/h | Very favorable | Coverage, little drift |
| 1–2 km/h | Favorable | Calm: watch inversion |
| < 1 km/h | Caution | Inversion / droplet does not travel |
| 8–10 km/h | Favorable | Light drift |
| 10–12 km/h | Caution | Drift |
| 12–16 km/h | Unfavorable | Strong drift |
| > 16 km/h | Very unfavorable | Do not spray |
Air VPD (ideal 0.3–1.2 kPa)
Air vapor-pressure deficit (Magnus/Tetens; not leaf temperature) — droplet evaporation, not the advanced plant-transpiration VPD (VPD chapter). High VPD (dry afternoon) is a hard limit; very low VPD (wet morning / dew) stays caution, not red.
VPD = es × (1 − RH/100)
| VPD | Class | Reading |
|---|---|---|
| 0.30–1.20 kPa | Very favorable | Droplet neither dries nor stays forever |
| 0.15–0.30 kPa | Favorable | A bit wet |
| < 0.15 kPa | Caution | Dew (never red for low VPD) |
| 1.20–1.60 kPa | Caution | Evaporates too fast |
| 1.60–2.20 kPa | Unfavorable | Burns the droplet |
| > 2.20 kPa | Very unfavorable | Dry afternoon |
Above 1.2 kPa there is no favorable band: it jumps to caution. High VPD does burn the droplet.
Rain (wants 0 mm)
| Condition | Class |
|---|---|
| 0 mm this hour, < 0.2 mm in the next 2 h, probability < 50% | Very favorable |
| Probability 50–69% | Favorable |
| Probability ≥ 70%, or ≥ 0.2 mm in the next 2 h | Caution |
| ≥ 0.1 mm this hour, or ≥ 2 mm in the next 2 h | Unfavorable |
| ≥ 0.5 mm this hour | Very unfavorable |
Examples: T 20 °C, RH 60%, wind 5 km/h → very favorable. 08:00 with T 18.7 °C and RH 81% (just above 80%; typical coast) → favorable. 14:00 with T 31 °C, RH 43%, wind 16 km/h, VPD 2.10 kPa → unfavorable.
